Talk To Glowfic Characters

So we've started answering comments in "How To Read Effulgence" in character, and that's not really the ideal platform for those conversations. This is! You may address characters here and we may opt to answer in character. You will get a kind of loosely "backstage" out-of-continuity version of the character (in continuity proper, you cannot talk to them, since you aren't there) and if you want them at a specific (past relative to where we're writing) point in time, feel free to specify (e.g. "Addy in 1932", "Shell in her box", "the Joker while committed", "Minus right after he woke up from turning", "the alethiometer on the subject of 1207").

Any glowfic author may use this thread to receive questions.

oh well. The book I liked best in that series of loosely connected books was The Children Star, where we first get to meet those bacteria. maybe someday you'll be on a world with it in its library and you can read it. I think if I could shapeshift that would be one of the things i would want to try being.

When you be a species, are you the platonic ideal of the species? How much room for individualisation is there? Could you be a three-legged cat? If you are a dalmation dog, can you be a deaf one? (Deafness is common in dalmations). How much choice do you have over your colouration?

Some daemons even before they settle can only be one thing in each species: one cat looking one way, one dog looking one way, and so on. But not me! I can be whatever I feel like. If I felt like being a three-legged cat, I could. I can be a big fluffy white cat or a tiny fuzzy black cat. I could be a green and purple cat if I wanted! Ansharil always has green eyes and purple something if he can manage it, it's adorable.
