Talk To Glowfic Characters

So we've started answering comments in "How To Read Effulgence" in character, and that's not really the ideal platform for those conversations. This is! You may address characters here and we may opt to answer in character. You will get a kind of loosely "backstage" out-of-continuity version of the character (in continuity proper, you cannot talk to them, since you aren't there) and if you want them at a specific (past relative to where we're writing) point in time, feel free to specify (e.g. "Addy in 1932", "Shell in her box", "the Joker while committed", "Minus right after he woke up from turning", "the alethiometer on the subject of 1207").

Any glowfic author may use this thread to receive questions.

Oh, ok. From my one minute of googling it seems he’d actually be obliged to step down because he’d be mentally incapable of representing his client, and I emphasised the “representing themselves” because you are never supposed to do that even if you yourself are a lawyer, yet I, not a lawyer would be more comfortable representing myself than having him represent me in that state.

Would you prefer I not ask questions of characters that minor in general, only for ones that are fairly old like that and never show up again, or just in this case? I like this thread, but I seem to ask questions you (collectively) would prefer not to answer, and would like to know what the boundaries are when (or preferably before) I cross them.

For now, I’m trying to figure out where boundaries might exist from the questions (either from me or others) which get no response. For example, I expected that the question to Glass about Minnie changing from kappa to you, and then acquiring templatehood, would be something the character Glass would want to stare at (if aura worked through pastsight, even if moiety is hard to see on nontemplates), and that you the author would either want to answer or handwave as unanswerable (especially because I wouldn’t be surprised if aura failed to work on pastsight even if you did want to write Glass seeing something like that).

I don’t want to know anything about Minnie; I know that Minnie was a minor character played by kappa when it was convenient to have a Minnie-Juliet interaction, and that you took over when Minnie-Sherlock interactions were called for, and that at some point in there (probably after the Minnie-Sherlock interactions, but I’m not certain) Minnie became a green template. I was asking because I wanted to see Glass’s reactions to seeing the moiety switch happen, if she could see it (seeing moiety on non-templates is hard, but seeing it change on a non-template would be strange and probably more visible; having a purple reference point and a templatey reference point could help). I thought that, with the explicit mention of narration changing in the link I provided, it would be clear what I was asking about; I suppose this could have been illusion of transparency.

I expect the character would be interested in looking at this kind of thing, and I expect as a reader to be interested in what she says (I like Glass-utterances). I wasn’t sure if you would care for writing it or not, but I expected you to be able to handwave something if you wanted to (whether or not you took the out of auras not working through past-sight).
