Talk To Glowfic Characters

So we've started answering comments in "How To Read Effulgence" in character, and that's not really the ideal platform for those conversations. This is! You may address characters here and we may opt to answer in character. You will get a kind of loosely "backstage" out-of-continuity version of the character (in continuity proper, you cannot talk to them, since you aren't there) and if you want them at a specific (past relative to where we're writing) point in time, feel free to specify (e.g. "Addy in 1932", "Shell in her box", "the Joker while committed", "Minus right after he woke up from turning", "the alethiometer on the subject of 1207").

Any glowfic author may use this thread to receive questions.

Golden, have you considered looking for a template of Edward and/or Elspeth in a different world? Or rather wishing for a door to take you to a world where one of them would exist.

They've both been swept for as part of the general check of all the worlds we're currently in contact with. Forcing the door to completely unfamiliar worlds hasn't tended to work even when Shell Bell has tried, and she'd have a better chance than I would.

I haven't met Edward in person yet, since he doesn't come to parties and it's never been urgent enough to override his discomfort with alts of his wife, but Elspeth looks templatey enough to have room for two, three alts, so we may run into more of her at least, eventually.

And if Elspeth looks templetely that assumes that Edward would too, since you need an Edward to get a Elspeth. And you need a Libby to get an Edward.

That arrangement might turn out to be typical, but it isn't necessarily guaranteed. There's a standard set of Joker parents, but there are alternative parents, too, and the possibility of no parents at all, for instance. I'd need to see more Elspeths to tell whether there are more ways to get them than with a Bell/Edward pairing, and I'd need to see more Edwards before I could tell you if there are alternative sources for those than Libbies and Edward's biological father's template. (If he even is a template. Some people just aren't, contagion or no.)
