I am generally able to make exceptions to my rules when they result in items generally understood in their home contexts to be potable or comestible. I sometimes make other exceptions as for houseplants, especially if this is some kind of unavoidable necessity for a patron. Microbes are usually allowable if they are safe.
There is some discretion available in the case of poisons too. In the home context of witch spell components it is not unheard of for them to be used deliberately as poison.
